From the Principal

Kia ora

A warm welcome back to Term 4.  This term is packed full of events, so please carefully read the Important Dates section.

Firstly I would like to congratulate Ms Renee Hutchison on winning the position of Principal commencing in 2022. I know she will do a great job of leading the school and continue moving the school forward, so that it continues to be a great school. Thank you also to the BOT for all of your work in this process.

Today we celebrated Pope John Paul II - the 22nd October is his Papal Anniversary.  He was head of the Catholic Church from 1978 until his death in 2005.  John Paul II was the first non-Italian Pope since the 16th century, and the second-longest serving Pope in modern time. Our school is proudly named after him. Celebrations took place today, unfortunately due to Covid-19 restrictions we had to cancel the Ambassador of Poland's visit.  Displays of John Paul II have been made and a special Mass was held for Yr 12 & 13 today.  We would also like to congratulate Jasmine, Kyra, Libby, Raphaela and Gerard who were commissioned as Eucharistic Ministers at the Mass.  Thank you Ms Pope and Mrs Smith for all your organising of this.

Next week is the derived grade (mock) exam week for our senior Yr 11, 12 & 13 students.  Please ensure you arrive with the correct equipment and your personal entry slip.

Just a reminder that Monday is Labour Day holiday, so there is no school.  Enjoy your long weekend.
