Kia ora

I can see clearly now the rain has gone..........for now!

The sun is certainly shining, and the weekend looks promising. Sunday see’s JPII students helping to run Mass at St Patrick’s, hopefully as many people as possible are able to make it (more details below). I am pleased to report that our school office has now re-opened after having to close for a short while due to staff illness! Everyone is fortunately well again and as busy as ever.

I would like to say thank you to those students that conducted the PISA test last week, they all represented the school well and the feedback from the staff running the assessment was excellent and they rated our students highly.

I would also like to thank Father Tang and Ms Pope for their efforts in putting together the whole school Mass last week, which was an opportunity for the school to come together to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. Due to the poor weather forecast, we moved the Mass from the Church to the school hall. Thanks to everyone for your flexibility. It was an opportunity for reflection and prayer for students and staff.

Next week, students and some staff and parents head out to various locations over the South Island for Winter Tournament week to compete and represent our school in a variety of sporting codes – we wish them all the best and I hope that the sun continues to shine at least until the end of next week.

Thanks to everyone working so hard at and for JPII, giving the best of yourselves to grow our school community and create a great learning environment. Remember to take time this weekend to rest and take in the sun and the beautiful outdoors.

Have a safe and relaxing weekend.
