NCEA Results 2024

Although the results are not yet finalized with NZQA, we are delighted to share with our school community the latest snapshot. 

NCEA Level 1 

Our Year 11 students achieved an outstanding 97% pass rate at Level 1. Given that this requires the corequisite in both literacy and numeracy, it reflects an exceptional effort from both students and our staff who have supported the students to make this happen. This achievement sets a high benchmark for our incoming Year 11 cohort. 

Notably, this result is over 20% higher than last year and more than double the national average. In comparison, similar schools report a 56% pass rate. 

Regarding excellence endorsements, we are on track with expectations. However, our focus moving forward is to support more students in progressing from achieved to merit, a key goal for the year ahead. 

NCEA Level 2 

At Level 2, we achieved a 71% pass rate, aligning with the national average. While this is slightly lower than last year, meaningful comparisons between cohorts are challenging due to the small Year 12 group of just 17 students. 

Among those who passed, an impressive 35% earned an Excellence endorsement, achieving 50 or more Excellence credits. This far surpasses the national average of 15% and the 12% seen in similar schools—an outstanding accomplishment for our students. 

NCEA Level 3 

At Level 3, 81% of our students passed—well above the national average of 68% and 10% higher than similar schools. Additionally, 31% of our students earned an Excellence endorsement, more than double the national average of 14%. 

This is an outstanding set of results to kick off 2025, reflecting the dedication of our staff and the hard work of our students. At a time when many schools are struggling with the Numeracy and Literacy co-requisites, it has been fantastic to see our students so well supported in overcoming this challenge. 

Looking ahead, we are excited to encourage even more students to push beyond 'achieved' and strive for merit and excellence—because we know they are all more than capable!
