Student Attendance

A reminder that Year 9 and 10 students are expected to be in their correct timetabled class each day, on time, and for the whole period.

We have a few students who are not meeting this basic expectation, and should they continue making poor choices, they will be required to catch up on their lost learning time during a supervised lunch break session (break two). We will let parents and whānau know if this intervention is needed to support their child’s learning.

If you are having trouble getting your child to attend school, please let us know, we are here to help and support you whenever you need it, and there are lots of ways that we can do this to support students.

Leaving During the School Day

Year 9 and 10 students (and any students) cannot leave the school grounds during the school day, unless they are going to a medical appointment – we know that it’s hard to get medical appointments and that flexibility is important. If a student comes to the office asking to leave school, expect to be contacted by phone to have this checked before they are allowed to leave. If we cannot get hold of a parent, the student may need to stay at school.

In exceptional circumstances, you may need to collect your child for another reason. Please contact the school and come into the office to collect your child.
