End of Year Activity Days

Oh to be young again! Two days of fun activities for Year 9 and Year 10s.

Next week we will be offering two days of activities to our Year 9 & 10 students to work on personal and group interraction skills. On Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th of December our Juniors will be off timetable, following different times as some of the activities cover multiple sessions.

Staff have done their best to reduce costs of the activities as much as possible, and we have ensured there are always free options for every session, so students do not need to pay anything extra. I’d also like to take the opportunity to remind whānau that JPII has a fund available to help students access extra activities equally, regardless of personal situations at home.

Our fantastic local businesses here in Māwhera Greymouth have once again supported us by discounting their products or services,  and we would like to thank them for this.

Students have selected their activity choices and have been asked to make payment at the school office. Payments can either be made in cash to the office, with a receipt being given, or online through the banking system. Please note that we cannot charge accounts unless we have been given instructions to do so.

The purpose of these activity days is to help our students develop personal skills in areas of interest, or which they may have less chance to focus on during normal lessons. Many activities involve supporting and communicating with others in their group and is a big part of our ethos with our three C's: Cooperation, Consideration, and Commitment.

Thank you to all the students for engaging so quickly with the surveys, and for the staff for their extra mahi with organising activities. We’re all looking forward to celebrating another year here at John Paul II with our fabulous rangatahi, young people.

Kia pai tō rā whakatā, have a great weekend!
