Kia ora koutou katoa

With the end of term in sight, we celebrate our first national public holiday of Matariki. We hope this is a time of connection, togetherness and relaxation for you and your loved ones. We will be looking to develop this as a school in the coming years, linked to our local curriculum.

Next Monday, the Mawhera Greymouth educational community gathers to grow their knowledge of restorative practices in our schools. Led by Greg Jansen and Richa Matla from the Leadership Lab, we will be working collaboratively to help build healthy school cultures to set the conditions for success for every learner in our community. PB4L (Positive Behaviour 4 Learning) was introduced at JPII in 2013. We are in the process of refreshing and updating PB4L and developing a set of school values to be the foundation of our approach. All students will have the opportunity to feed into this next term.

We look forward to seeing all students back at school on Tuesday for the last two weeks of school.

To all of you who are travelling this weekend, we wish you a safe journey.
