West Coast Secondary Schools Senior Boys & Girls Basketball

John Paul II had two Senior teams compete in the West Coast Secondary Schools Basketball Tournaments this week.

On Tuesday the senior boys team headed to Buller for some tough competition against Grey High, Buller High, and Westland High Schools'.  They won their games against Buller and Westland with ease but found Grey High a bit too strong by the final whistle.  They finished a very respectable 2nd overall.

On Thursday the senior girls played at the Westland Rec Centre against Grey High, Buller High and Westland High. The girls won easily against Westland, and should have taken the very close Buller game but faltered at the last hurdle, losing by 7 points in the last quarter.  Their game against Grey High was very hard fought, but unfortunately our local counterparts got on top early and won the game by 18 points.  The girls finished 3rd overall.

Thanks to all the coaches and mangers who supported these teams, your time and effort is much appreciated as without you they would not be able to participate in these events.
