Totara House

Chris Foster —

It has been a great term at Kaiapoi High School, lots of successes, lots of learning and lots of credits given out, the one problem being the position of Totara on the house leader board!

However, all is not lost, as there is still hope for a shift and it is possible to jump a place before the end of term!

I spoke in assembly about the collective responsibility we have over the school environment, related to our school values of respect and community. My message for students to actively partake in our litter challenge and make an effort to engage in improving our environment.

It’s that time of year where gold cards begin to flood in. Students who have been saving up for the draw during the year can now look to deposit their gold cards in the hope of obtaining a prize. There is also a reward day for the top gold card receivers late in term 4 – this is yet to be confirmed but a few new ideas are being floated by the Deans.

I am also very pleased with the efforts of a number of students within the House who have been working on improving their attendance and behaviour. The support from home has also been fantastic in supporting our efforts at school.

Have a good term 3 break – term 4 is bound to speed by!
