University of Canterbury trip

Andrea Williamson —

On Tuesday 9 April a group of Years 12 & 13 students attended the University of Canterbury's Discovery Day.

The event is structured like a real university day and students experienced a wide range of different lectures, from volcanoes to criminal justice.

The students got to have a good look around the campus and took part in six lectures of their choice, enabling them to relate their school subjects to possible university subjects and degrees. They learned about the difference between school and university and met many students from other schools in the Christchurch and Canterbury region.
