The Kaiapoi High School Rowing Squad took part in the South Island Secondary Schools' Regatta at Lake Ruataniwha at the beginning of March.

They entered three events: 

1. Placed 3rd in the B Final of the Girls U15 coxed Quad Sculls (four rowers each with two oars).

2. Placed 5th in B Final of Girls Novice Double Sculls (two first year rowers each with two oars).

3. Placed 2nd in B Final of Girls Novice Coxed Four (four first year rowers each with one oar).

The photo of the Four (one oar each) is taken during their race. From the bow (the part of the boat going through the water first) to stern: Isabella Ewins (Yr 10), Beth Dunbar (Yr 9), Tyla Smart (Yr 10), Neve Sinclair (Yr 9), plus Madi Broadley (Coxswain - Yr 9). 

The other two photos of the Quad (same girls, different order) was taken as they rowed down to the start.
