Hospitality News

Andrea Preston —

It has been another busy, but enjoyable, term for the Hospitality Department.

During the Term 3 school holidays a small group of students went to ARA and attended a couple of free workshops, run by ARA. Whilst one group of students learnt about preparing food and plates for competition work with New Zealand Culinary Olympic team member, Mark Sycamore, another learnt some of the tricks of the baking industry, making sugar paste flowers, with Pastry Chef, Adele Hingston.

Our premier sports function was another catering success, with students from across the school contributing through exceptional food and service.

Level 3 student Kaleb Fahey, was awarded top prize in Year 13 Hospitality. Kaleb is looking to pursue a career in baking, and we wish him all the best for his future success.

Level 1 Hospitality students organised and prepared gourmet pizzas to sell to staff, to raise money for the School's hardship fund.
