9J & 9N Camp

Sam Creed —

9J and 9N were the second group to head on their Year 9 camps to Boyle River this year, leaving on Wednesday morning after a slight delay when waiting for the bus.

After we arrived at the Boyle, we split into our groups and began to head in different directions around the camp. Some hauled their mates up into the sky on the Flying Kiwi, some fought their way around the bush, and some spent their time learning how to interpret maps. Once night came around, they were again split into two groups to do some night orienteering and following the nightline, where the blind led the blind around a small section of the forest. The Years 12 & 13 leaders had a great time leading the unsuspecting Year 9s around in circles, again and again!

The second day saw much more of the same, with one group working as a team around the swamps, one group venturing on a mammoth walk up one of the local mountains, and a small group of hardy students even went for a swim in the Boyle River!

9J and 9N were an amazing bunch of students to head up to Boyle River with, and I am sure that they had just as much fun up there as I did.
