Students from ANY YEAR LEVEL can apply!

Open auditions are Week 2 of Term 1. Tuesday 9th February (3-5pm) and Thursday 11th February (3-4pm).  Sign up for an audition slot near the Performing Arts Room door, Karetu Block. 

Please note: Rehearsals are Monday and Tuesday 3.15pm till 5.15pm.  Students also need to be available for rehearsals Tuesday-Thursday in the second week of the April school holidays.

Please talk to Mrs Breen or Miss Bidwell for more information.

If you are unable to attend the rehearsals and performances, please do not audition.  We have plenty of other ways you can help us, but your attendance at these rehearsals are vital.  However, if you have noted the commitments above and feel you can commit to them:  Welcome to auditions for The Addams Family! – we look forward to seeing you in the audition room to show us what you can contribute to our awesome show.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY - CHARACTER ROLES AND INFORMATION

Gomez Addams - pg 1 for the audition

A man of ambiguous Spanish descent who takes great pride in his family and reveres all it means to be an “Addams”. He struggles with having to keep his daughter’s secret from his wife, who he adores more than death. Smart, comedic actor with tenor vocals.

Morticia Addams - pg 100 for the audition

The strength of the family. A strong comedic actress with a dry wit. Feels her husband is hiding something from her and will use any tactic to lure the secret out. A strong dancer/mover with alto/mezzo-soprano vocals.

Wednesday Addams - pg 42 for the audition

Wednesday is a strong girl who has the same dry wit and sensibility as her mother. Finds love with a “normal” boy (Lucas) and wants to introduce his family to hers. Experiences the youthful drama that comes with first love. Lucas can actually put a smile on her face. Strong pop belt vocals.

Pugsley Addams - pg 58 for the audition - (gender-neutral)

Young actor who plays 12 years old. A charming, funny, husky boy who loves being tortured by his sister. He wants to ensure he won’t lose his sister to her new boyfriend so he takes matters into his own hands. Strong, high vocals. Voice not yet changed by puberty.

Lucas Beineke - pg 42 for the audition

Attractive young man. Fell in love with Wednesday Addams and plans to marry her. Experiences the youthful pain and drama of young love and struggles with the differences between his family and the Addams family. Contemporary pop tenor vocals.

Alice Beineke - pg 68 for the audition

Mother of 19-year-old Lucas, devoted to her family so she puts aside her own desires In shape, quirky female who often speaks in rhyme. While at the Addams Family dinner party, she drinks a potion that causes her to let her hair down and speak her truth. Comedic actress with soprano/belt vocals.

Mal Beineke - pg 82 for the audition

Stuffy father of 19-year-old Lucas and exasperated husband to his rhyming wife, Alice. At one time was a follower of The Grateful Dead but has lost that side of himself. Always looking out for his family. A male actor with high baritone/tenor vocals.

Uncle Fester - pg 96 for the audition - (gender-neutral)

The andogynous family member who serves as the show’s narrator. He is larger than life, an energetic, joyous, child-like presence. A vaudeville-style comedian with tenor vocals.

Grandma - pg 37 for the audition

She is a feisty 102-year-old woman. Fun and quirky, but don’t mess with Grandma. Comedic actress with strong character vocals.

Lurch - no specific lines for audition - just singing (and grunting/moaning)

A very tall male character, the Addams family butler who knows all. He speaks in moans and groans. A character actor with low bass vocals. He must be able to sing.

The Ancestors (no specific lines for audition)

Male and female ensemble singer/dancers. Trained contemporary dancers who sing and have a fun, quirky sensibility. Knowledge of tango and flamenco dancing a plus.
