Paul Johnson is a graduate of the Hartley School of Performing Arts and has his Associate Diploma (Teachers) in Speech and Drama from the Trinity College of London.

Paul's theatre credits include Lighting Designer for 2019's Boudica; The Arsonists (the Court Theatre), the director of Jekyll and Hyde; Disney’s Beauty and the Beast; Guys and Dolls (North Canterbury Musicals); Reefer Madness (MUSOC); Aladdin and the Arabian Nights; Robin Hood; The Jungle Book (Hartley School of Performing Arts).

Paul has taught Speech and Drama for nearly 17 years, has written multiple jukebox Musicals, runs a freelance theatre management company, and has a passion for seeing the arts develop here in North Canterbury.
