This year Kaiapoi High School sent a boys and girls team to Dunedin to the Junior South Island Secondary Schools' Basketball tournament. Both teams did well, the boys were placed 3rd and the girls came 14th.

The level of basketball was good and players were challenged at various parts of the tournament, but all benefited from the experience.

The weather was fantastic and the facility at Edgar Stadium was great.

We were grateful to be able to take two referees with us, Lollie Stallard and Ryan Sangster, who also shared the experience of a tournament and getting regular feedback, which enhanced their refereeing skills. The managers, Janeen Johnson and Hamish Calvert, were amazing and went over and above to ensure all players were well cared for.
