9C Camp

Simon Henson —

This year 9C were the last group to embark on Year 9 camp.

There were numerous highlights from this camp, such as students getting stuck in the mud and stranded on square islands in the swamp, trying desperately not to fall off. There were kids swaying from ropes, some having real difficulties dismounting. There were numerous karate kicks during the flying kiwi. Blake managed to kill the entire team of the holey doughnuts, a fine achievement.

All students participated well at the night activities with quotes like “there's a tree here so go around it, there we go, ok let’s go for….. oh that's another tree" coming to mind from one group at the night line activity.

Students helped each other throughout the entirety of the camp, which was lovely to see. One student was trying to help so much that they were telling students to “aim high and don’t die” on the high ropes. Great advice, but not sure if it helped students overcome their initial fear of heights!

The students from 9C did exceptionally well and it was a privilege to be on this camp with them.
