9K and 9Q camp

Lyndsay Fenn —

Kaiapoi High School has a long tradition of attending camps at Boyle River with thousands of students having enjoyed their time in the outdoors. This year's 9K and 9Q students were no exception.

The students participated in a number of activities from orienteering to high poles, offering physical and mental challenges for all. Students from 9K and 9Q spent each day with a small group from their core class, working on team building initiatives and outdoor activities. Many students pushed themselves to challenge their fear of heights and climbed to the top of the high poles or jumped for the trapeze swing! These outdoor experiences offer students the chance for personal and social development that they often don't get sitting behind a desk at school. There were many stories of adventure and fun when the students returned to school. Luckily the weather played its part this year and nobody got stuck up there with snow!
