Term 2 has brought the start of the new Robotics Club here at Kaiapoi High School.

We ordered and received a starter robot kit and are now working hard to construct a basic robot. Our group of five students (so far that is - we welcome new members!) are using their constructing, programming, tech, and problem-solving skills to put this robot together to be ready for term 3 when the competition task and guidelines are released. The tricky part is that the kit comes with NO INSTRUCTIONS, so we are working hard to create it using only a few pictures of a completed basic robot and many video tutorials.

After many hours of constructing and deconstructing the base of the robot, this week we have managed to start driving it around the classroom. Our next goal is to construct and attach a grabbing arm and then programme it to do simple tasks.
