Student Success

Robyn Patient (ex student) —

Ex student, Robyn Patient (Y13 student in 2018) was awarded a prestigious Primary Industries scholarship recently and tells of her experience.

I was officially awarded the Ministry of Primary Industries' Nga Karahipi Uru Rakau Scholarship on Thursday 7th March. The ceremony was held at the University of Canterbury by MPI, with PM Jacinda Ardern and MP Shane Jones in attendance. This scholarship includes an annual payment of $8,000 for four years and a paid internship over each summer break going towards an engineering degree in forestry science.

I would like to thank my teachers and Kaiapoi High School for helping me to achieve this, instilling into me the values of tenacity and excellence, which pushed me to pursue higher education in forestry science at the University of Canterbury.
