A selection of photos from the Hospitality Department, including some examples of Level 1 Hospitality students' exceptional work with hot finger food.

Levels 2 & 3 out day in Kaiapoi

Owner and proprietor of CBK Kaiapoi, Hamish Keen, spent the best part of the morning talking to students about employer expectations in the hospitality industry. Students had the opportunity to work in the kitchen under the guidance of ex-student and now chef, Jordan Taylor.

We then went down and checked out Kaiapoi Library where we had a tour with Rebecca Morland, who helped us to learn about what services were on offer. Students discovered the art expo walls, JP services, museum, and a number of services like internet, printing, etc.

Dinner with ex-student

One of the best parts of hospitality at Kaiapoi is the opportunity to be invited to dinner with past students. Molly Paterson invited both Hospitality teachers, Ms Quinn and Mrs Preston, to experience her Italian evening at ARA polytechnic where she has been training.

New Thermomix machine

Hospitality students were lucky to have Thermomix demonstrator Aften Jones, demonstrate new (or old) technology 9n the kitchen. Students got involved in making bread, tandoori paste, and sorbet in less than an hour from one machine.
