On Tuesday 4th March Shirley Boys' High School and Avonside Girls' High School hosted the annual Pasifika Awards for Academic Excellence for 2019 and Leadership.

Kaiapoi High School was represented by Emma Kennar, now in year 13, who had achieved NCEA Level 2, and Sateki Fifita, now in year 12, who had achieved NCEA Level 1 with a Merit endorsement in Science and a National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering Level 1. Lima Teopenga, year 12, was joined by Emma and Sateki as Kaiapoi High School Cultural Leaders. These students are to be congratulated on their achievements.
