South Island Athletics Championships

We are thrilled to share some exciting news from the South Island Secondary Schools' Athletics Championships held in Timaru in early April.

Our KHS Athletics team demonstrated exceptional talent, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the competition, making us all immensely proud.

With a total of 10 athletes representing KHS, our team showcased their prowess in various track and field events, bringing home an array of remarkable achievements.

Outstanding Performances:

  • Lily Morrison emerged as a true star, clinching gold medals in both the U14 100m and 200m sprints, as well as securing a silver medal in the U14 Long Jump.
  • Lily, along with teammates Sabrina Galilee, Hazel Jones, and Elina Seuamuli, demonstrated exceptional teamwork, earning a silver medal in the U14 4x100m Relay.
  • A bronze medal was secured by Lily, Sabrina, Hazel, and Sophie Jolly in the U14 4x400m Relay.
  • Kaedin Fettes showcased his talent with a gold medal in the U15 Long Jump.
  • Tiani Stanley demonstrated strength and skill, securing a silver medal in the U15 Hammer Throw.
  • Jack Brown soared to success, finishing 6th in the U19 High Jump.
  • Charlie Pockson displayed his abilities with a commendable 7th place finish in the U14 High Jump.
  • Eshan Raja showcased his versatility by finishing 8th in both the U14 Long Jump and High Jump events.
  • Sophie Jolly demonstrated determination, finishing 8th in the U15 800m race.
  • Sabrina Galilee showed her speed and endurance, finishing 9th in the U14 400m and 13th in the 200m events.

These remarkable achievements are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and talent of our student athletes. They have represented KHS with pride and sportsmanship, embodying the values of our school community.
