Theatre Restaurant

Jacinta Quinn —

Early in term two, our hospitality teams were privileged to participate in the School production of The Addams Family.

We prepared and served a three-course meal for guests over two evenings the production was showing in the auditorium.

Guests arrived at a wonderfully themed café, transformed into a spooky place. This was a team effort of collaboration with several faculties contributing and many staff involved. Students prepared props for the dining table, covered the walls with creepy crawlers. There was a wonderful rogues gallery of portraits, plus a few headstones appeared as well.

The menu reflected the early winter temperatures comfort food. French onion soup was the starter, followed by a choice of slow-cooked lamb or braised chicken. These were served with steamed green vegetables and a delicious potato mash. Guests were delighted to take away a box of petit-fours filled with delicious small dessert bites. The senior hospitality students all contributed to this wonderful dinner, lending their creative culinary skills or artistic flair in making it happen. A wonderful and memorable event for our hospitality calendar.
