Once again we had a small group of girls making up our 2021 school Dragon Boating team.

After a grand total of three team trainings, the team found themselves competing in the regatta at Lake Rua. It was a tough day, which the team did not feel ready for. Whilst the girls were all keen and committed, their inexperience posed an additional challenge. Despite these challenges, the team remained positive and supportive of each other, and they were also really supportive of other schools.

Whilst we didn’t place, it was a great experience and the team definitely improved race by race. We truly hope that Dragon Boating will become a more popular sport so that we can build on the strengths we have developed so far.  Well done girls!
