Important Information during school closure

Kaiapoi High School —

Information regarding Itinerant Music Lessons, the School Library and Careers during the school closure.

Itinerant Music Lessons

Our itinerant music programme will continue to run throughout the shut-down, with our instrument teachers delivering tuition online via Zoom, during the students' usual lesson times.  Students have been contacted about this.  If your child is learning singing, guitar, drums, bass, flute, saxophone, trumpet, trombone or piano through school and they have not heard from myself or their tutor, please ask them to check their emails.  Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.

Library

Our school library has a web-based Library Management System and Wheeler's ePlatform for eBooks and audiobooks. All our students and staff have access to our digital library resources by logging in at home. They can use the same digital resources and databases that we use onsite at school for teaching and learning and can borrow eBooks and audiobooks to read or listen to on computers, tablets, and phones. All students have been emailed a reminder on how to access these but if students are having trouble logging in, then they can email me at h.mccorquodale@kaiapoi.school.nz

Careers Update

As most students and parents will know, a lot of the planned careers events, such as the UC Year 12 Discovery Day and university introductory talks have been postponed.  All details will be updated as and when new information is available on the school careers website.  Access to the school careerwise website is via the main Kaiapoi High School website home page or by using http://kaiapoi.careerwise.school/

I am also available for students who would like to arrange an online careers appointment over the next few weeks, which I will conduct via Google Meet.  Please email me, a.williamson@kaiapoi.school.nz, and I will then send a meeting appointment and time.
