International Students
Our international students have enjoyed a range of activities during term 3.
Twenty international students spent two wonderful days skiing at Porters Skifield. This was the first time our Thai student had seen and touched snow!
Some of our international students recently went horse trekking in the Waimakariri River.
Many of our international students enjoyed the opportunity to go to the school senior formal. Along with our Kaiapoi High School students, our international students looked amazing!
Mirai Hinoue played the saxophone at our recent school production of 'Grease'.
Some of the students have been competing in interschool sports competitions.
Congratulations to Tomoya Tarui, Taiga Tanizaki, Tomofumi Onuma, Kyo Nishimura, members of the winning Boys' Badminton team.
Maria Nishi, Toshimi Kimura, Momo Miyakawa, Beam Viroonhasakul, Friederike Frahm and Yukiho Ichinose played in the Senior Girls' Badminton team.
Nanami Nakayama and Yukihira Akutsu played in the Football team.
Paula Ortega participated in the Girl’s Football team. She was delighted to travel with the team to Ashburton for Tournament Week.
Joe Vincent-Gaftie, a short-term French exchange student, played Friday night Basketball.
Luna Schreiner and Mirai Hinoue tried out Archery.
Toshimi Kimura has joined Table Tennis at the Kaiapoi Club.
During August we hosted a group from Omiya High School, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. 20 students and two teachers were welcomed to our school with a powhiri from our Kapa Haka students. We were delighted their Principal was also able to join the group. A huge thank you to our student mentors for looking after our visitors and all our wonderful host families for welcoming the students into their homes.
On 10 September we farewelled Klara Dollman who is returning to her studies in Germany. Klara was such a wonderful young lady and an excellent ambassador for her country.
