CACTUS 2015
Term 3 presents the opportunity to take part in the 7th edition of CACTUS at Kaiapoi High School.
So far around 150 of our students have taken part in this wonderful and challenging programme. Running three mornings a week from 6:20am until 7:30am, the course covers 10 weeks and involves physical challenges, team building and of course getting physically fit.
All of the students who have graduated previous CACTUS programmes loved the environment created and would definitely do it again.
Keep an eye out in the notices for enrolment details. CACTUS is open for all year levels, both genders and all fitness levels.
The Term 2 CACTUS Group is nearing the end of their 10 week programme. The group has been great and they have all found the benefits of the course to be both rewarding and challenging. They had a visit from All Black prop, Owen Franks, who also donated a set of All Blacks gear. The group will finish their course on the last day of term with "The Longest Day", which culminates with a Fire Truck Pull from Blue Skies to the school.
I would like to thank all the parents for their help with breakfasts and supporting our students. Without the volunteer help from parents, staff, Police and the Fire Service, we could not run such a successful course. It was great to see our community work together and, as a result, we have created a blueprint that other schools are now following.
