Responding in tough times

Jason Reid —

In the wake of a devastating cyclone that struck North Island communities in February this year, our local schools joined forces to support those affected, including Te Pohue School in Napier.

We're sharing Te Pohue School's thank you card in this newsletter to express our deep gratitude to our community for stepping up in their time of need. Your support has made a lasting impact, reminding us of the strength of unity and compassion. Thank you for being there when it mattered most.

Also, as a Katote Kahui Ako, our Non-Uniform Day was able to raise over $5000 for the Kahui Ako in Wairoa. These funds have been given to the Kahui Ako to spend on their students the brighten things up during a tough time due to the cyclone. In 2010, when Kaiapoi went through similar circumstances due to the earthquakes, schools from all over New Zealand raised funds for us. This was our time to return the favour.
