A fantastic day was had in Akaroa with the Year 9 and 10 French classes of Madame Graham and Madame Q, to celebrate a successful and enjoyable year with our keen French language learners of Kaiapoi High School!

Sightseeing and exploring the French components of this picturesque town, with some beautiful weather, was one of the many things students took part in on our day in Akaroa. Warmly welcomed in by the local museum, students had an opportunity to learn about the history of the French settlers that gave the town the French nature it harbours. Amongst this, our Year 10 students were able to explore some special French gastronomy, and the brave even gave the famous Les escargots (snails) a try!

It was great to see how well the students represented Kaiapoi High School and their love of the French language. We look forward to running another French trip in the future and continuing to foster and grow the love of the French language for our Les enfants and akonga of Kaiapoi.
