9W & 9R Camp

Sebastian Curry —

The 9W and 9R camp was a great success.

The students started the trip in high spirits singing songs, some that sounded better than others on the trip down. On the first day the classes made a great fist of things leaping into action straight away and almost everyone participating from the outset. This positive attitude continued throughout, as both classes tackled the heights of the ladder and flying kiwi with exemplary bravery, with even the teachers getting involved, this despite a fear of heights making things difficult for a certain individual.

Challenge by choice was the theme that continued throughout the three days. As the camp progressed more and more, students took up the fun challenges on offer and everyone could go home proud of their efforts on what was a very successful camp.

The camp was aided by a great support team of leaders, who kept everyone's spirits high, and a cooking staff who were very well liked by their younger campers.

Despite the lack of cellphones on hand, the students had a great time and will take many happy memories away from an enjoyable camp.
