Students from Kaiapoi High School combined with Tuahiwi Kura and Rangiora High School to represent Ngāi Tūāhuriri at an auspicious occasion on November 22nd.

The students were privileged to stand beside the hapū and perform the haka pōwhiri for Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla. They also performed the E tuku ana, the waiata kīnaki for Te Maire Tau.

As the sun bore down on the students, we took them under the shade of the trees, to then bring them out to serenade the Prince and Duchess with Ka Kitea as they left Tuahiwi Marae. The students were then called into Mahaanui II to entertain the taua, poua and dignitaries.
