Language Perfect Global Championships

Sara Qasem —

A brilliant result for the first year running the Language Perfect Global Championships at Kaiapoi High School; the students competed avec tous les coeurs (with all their hearts) and matched that with some outstanding results.

The global language competition began on 27th August until 3rd September, with 72 students on board. They all participated by immersing themselves in the French language and competing on a global platform with students from all around the world, with over 200,000 participants involved. This has been such a great opportunity that has inspired our students' language learning in French, yielding 25 awards for students school-wide. Our classes have done well and above beyond what we could have imagined, answering over 65, 000 questions and coming in 2nd nationally for the 51-100 users category for French, and 3rd globally for the 51-100 users category for French.

A special congratulations to Rosie Reilly- 3779 (gold award & first school-wide), Ty Oldroyd- 3244 (gold award & second school-wide), and Stacey Stewart- 2509 (silver award & third school-wide).

A great experience was had by all, and we are all looking forward to taking on our fellow global linguists again next year- Bon travail à tous et chacun! (Well done everyone!)
