On Friday 8th March a 35-strong KHS group travelled to Christchurch for an AMAZING show!

Year 10 Dance, Senior Dance, and Senior Te Ao Haka classes attended Taki Rua Production's innovative and moving matinee show of Hatupatu|Kurungaituku: A Forbidden Love at Wigram Air Force Museum. It was created by Tānemahuta Gray, and inspired by the Te Arawa iwi kōrero. It features a combination of aerial dance, contemporary & haka dance, powerful acting and moving waiata. The performers were above us (hanging from scaffolding a ceiling tracks), on stage and amongst the audience! Very challenging for students and so immersive that even those without much te reo could understand and enjoy!
