Level 2 Building

Pete Graham —

These photos show different stages of the new gear shed that we are constructing for the Outdoor Education Department to house their equipment.

The boys are doing an amazing job. They have dug, boxed up, and poured their own foundations, and poured the floor. They then cut out and nailed their own frames for the walls, then we went down to Precut Construction and the students helped make the trusses for the roof. Once we had all the framing complete, we put the roofing on, with the guidance of Jeff Neil from Roofit Canterbury. Once the roof was on, we applied the building rap and cavity battens, then attached the horizontal colour steel wall cladding on the back wall and the two sides. We are now about to do the vertical shiplap on the front of the shed.
