From the Art Department
Five Visual Art and Digital Art students recently received prizes in a Waimakariri District Council Art competition in support of Race Unity Day.
A large number of junior Art students from Miss Mitchell's and Ms Ellis-Walker's classes entered the competition, creating posters considering what ‘Celebrating Different Cultures’ means to them.
Maya Pradhan, Jordis-Rose Dickinson, Jazmin Piper, Rich Armas, and Maddy Dunn received prizes. The prizegiving ceremony on Friday 31st March was held in the Council Chambers where the Mayor, Dan Gordon, presented the prizes.
Many of the artworks submitted by KHS students were displayed at the Waimakariri libraries during the school holidays.
