Kia ora, whānau. Welcome to our last newsletter of the year.

Another year has flown by with many achievements and goals being ticked off along the way.

We are excited to announce that our first international student since the start of the pandemic arrived on Monday, November 20, 2023.

On Wednesday 29 November, our Pasifika students had a great time out with their peers playing Kilikiti at Rangiora High School.

As part of the year 10 Outdoor Education programme, once students have practised the knots, how to belay and climb on the gym climbing wall, they go out climbing in the Port Hills.

Congratulations to Hayden Downes, Y11 and Lili Batterbury, Y13, recipients of the Rotary Club of Rangiora's 2023 Young Totara Awards.

On Wednesday 22nd November, Royal NZ Ballet Educator Neve Pierce visited KHS to run a junior ballet workshop.

As we finish a year of sports at KHS, we congratulate all of our students who contribute to the success of our sporting opportunities at school.

Mr Stringer's Year 10 Classics class studied the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Congratulations to all our students who have gained sporting success outside of school.

This term, 9K made a wooden puzzle out of six pieces of 100mm x 20mm x 20mm pieces of pine.

On Wednesday 22 November, Mr Hopkinson's Year 10 Outdoor Education class went rock climbing at Rapaki.

Mr Stringer and his Year 10 Classical Studies class went to the Arts Centre to view the Logie Collection of Classical Antiquities at the Teece Gallery.

On Friday 24th November, two students from Learning Support - Riley Dench and Stuart Murray - were given the opportunity to make mocktails in the Senior Hospitality room.

It was great to be able to celebrate our year of sport at our annual Sports Awards Ceremony held on Tuesday 31 October.

At the beginning of November, all of our Year 9 classes took part in our Swimsafe programme, which looks at basic water safety.
