FROM THE DP'S OFFICE
Kia Ora, Welcome back to term 3.
We finished last term with our Hub Jump Jam competition. It was great to see most children taking part and having fun with their hubs/classes. We could see how much effort everyone had put in to learn their routines and perform.
THANKS TO THE PTA - SPORTS GEAR
We are very grateful to the PTA who have gifted funds for us to buy sports gear for children to access during break times. The children will get information about how and where to access the gear in the coming days. This sports equipment will help keep them busy and to have fun. If we can all look after this lot we will add to it. Thanks PTA for helping fund this!!!
KNS IN THE SPOTLIGHT - JASON MILES TVNZ BREAKFAST INTERVIEW!!!
We are proud of Jason Miles, our Principal, for advocating that Structured Literacy is implemented in ALL schools across NZ, on TVNZ Breakfast show this morning. That Structured Literacy is the best way to teach ALL children to learn to read and spell and that the brain only learns to read one way, not multiple ways. That the Ministry of Education need to continue to step up and make sure that all teachers are competent and have the correct knowledge of how to teach literacy following an evidence based approach. Well done Jason for continuing to advocate for all NZ students!!! In week 6 KNS will host around 60 teachers from other schools to share what we have learnt on our Structured Literacy journey and see Structured Literacy in action!!
