Jason Miles —

It is not long to go until our KNS Fair - we are very thankful for the many hours of hard work and organisation our PTA are putting into the organisation of the fair. Thank you to all staff and families who are able to help with supervising a stall and donating items - we are so grateful for the community support for what will be an amazing day on Sunday 11th April!!

Another example of wonderful community support was our working bee held last Sunday. We had many parents come along to help with painting seats, playground surrounds and fences. We are so grateful for the help to spruce up the school for our children and in preparation for the fair!

I am sure everyone is looking forward to the Easter break - confirming that school's Easter break includes a Tuesday holiday which occurs when Easter is part of the school term (about every 3-4 years). It has been a part of the Education Act since the 1950's, originating from when schools had 3 terms of around 15 weeks each. All schools across NZ will be closed from Friday 2nd April - Tuesday 6th April. We re-open on Wednesday 7th April.

We have a busy two weeks before the end of the term - here are the main events:

- Year 7/8 boys cricket - Thursday 1st April - final game for term 1 v West Eyreton at KNS

- Canterbury Swimming Sports - Thursday 8th April - all the best to our team of 8 swimmers!

- KNS FAIR - Sunday 11th April 10m-2pm

- KNS Cross Country - Tuesday 13th April (whole school in teams throughout the day - more information to come)

- KNS Top Town - Thursday 15th April - fun competition in House groups/free swim in rotations

Nga mihi
