The PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is a committee of enthusiastic parents and teachers who volunteer their time to support the children of Kaiapoi North School.

The role of KNS PTA:

  • Raise funds to provide improved facilities and educational opportunities for members of the school community

  • Bring the school community together through the organisation of fun, social activities

  • Fundraising for special projects within the school

  • Provide a link between students, parents/caregivers, staff and the wider community

PTA Meetings

PTA meetings are generally held on the third Monday of the month at 7 pm in the school staffroom. Look out for the notification via the KNS App. All parents/caregivers and whanau are welcome to attend these meetings. We welcome new members, additional support and fresh ideas. It is a fantastic way to meet new parents and caregivers within our school community. There is no obligation to join. Your support in any way is most welcome.

We are always looking for additional support with events – if you can help when required or have other services/goods to donate for prizes etc we would love to hear from you too.

Fundraising

Every year as a PTA we actively fundraise to provide additional educational extras for our children and assist in the all-around environment our children are educated in.

Areas the PTA has supported to date:

  • Contributing to classroom wish list items

  • The enhancement of playground areas

  • Landscaping around the school – shade, seating

  • Supporting school groups, basketball, code club, and end-of-year productions.

Upcoming fundraising events will be added to the KNS APP calendar and alerts via the KNS APP. We aim to spread these out throughout the year and hopefully cater for all.

Providing this support is vital to the school and running successful fundraising events relies on the support of parent volunteers.
