FROM THE DP'S OFFICE

Felicity Fahey —

We are on the countdown to the fair!!!!!!

Thank you to those parents who have offered to help on the day.  Some parents are helping support the PTA with the running of the fair and some are helping out on stalls.  WE STILL NEED MORE PARENTS, just an hour of your day.  The fair is a great way to connect with other parents and will help your children.  All children benefit from the proceeds from the fair.

Just a reminder that we would love it if every family could provide baking to sell at the fair.  Baking can be dropped off to school on Saturday 10th April between 2:00pm - 4:00pm.  There will be PTA members at school during this time ready to collect it.  It would be great if the baking is pre-cut and packaged - eg a glad bag, paper plate with cling wrap etc.  The PTA will price the baking.

We look forward to seeing many families at the fair on Sunday 11 April.

We are noticing there are a lot of tired children as we approach the end of the term.  At the end of the term it can be a good idea to try and get children to bed a bit earlier (easier with daylight saving finishing).  It is also a good idea to make sure children are not taking devices to bed, sometimes they continue to play on them after lights out!  We are finding that some children are playing on devices till the early hours of the morning.  This greatly affects their mood and their learning.

PARENT LITERACY SESSION

It was great to see many parents attend the Parent Literacy Evening. The parents that attended have commented how useful the session was. Attached is the presentation that was given to the parents who attended. Please open the PDF at the bottom of the article to see what was covered and how you can help your children.  One of the key messages that the parents left with was ... READ TO YOUR CHILDREN... this is really important.
