A Visit to the Art Gallery

Room 4 head to the art gallery to look at sustainability in the ocean and art!

The Art Gallery Trip

On Wednesday, Room 4 went on a trip to the art gallery.  When we got there we sat down on some seats and waited for a man called John.  He took us on a tour around the art gallery.  He also showed us some pictures of polluted water.  He threw some sea animals at us that made their actual sounds when you squished their tummies. After that we went down some steps to look at some more artworks.  We saw a picture of the Harbour Cone, a painting with lots of glitter, a beautiful river in NZ and a sculpture made from reused pencils.

When we finished looking at the art we went up the steps that took us to the art room. We did some art that was inspired by the horrible plastic in the ocean. First we got some pieces of paper that looked like the sea because John had put yellow and blue dye on the surface and then blow dried it to make it look like it was the sea.  We made fish by cutting out pieces of coloured paper and making the body of the fish.  After this we stuck the fish to our ocean. We made some turtles as well as fishes.  Finally, we  stuck on different pieces of plastic and rubbish on the bottom of the sea.

Here are some pictures of our art…
