Junior News

Felicia Ward —

It has once again been another fun-filled 3 weeks in the Junior Syndicate!

PBL

Driving Question - How can we showcase our learning and spaces without parents on-site?

As always we try to make our PBL (Project Based Learning) authentic and this term is no different. We recognise how hard our new ‘norm’ is and how hard it has been to not be able to come in and physically see your child’s artwork and have them share their stories in their writing book with you. It is because of this that we are super excited to begin our first PBL of the year and create a final product to share our learning in more depth with you. Expect mini movies and photo books to give you a snapshot of a day in the life of the juniors.

Parent Interviews

Thank you for taking the time to attend parent interviews either virtually or over the phone. With current circumstances, it is even more important to be able to touch base and celebrate your child’s successes, check-in on their well being and get some tips and tricks to help your child at home. We look forward to welcoming you back into the classroom in (hopefully) the near future!

Welcome

We welcome Mia Norwood, a Graduate Diploma Student from the University of Waikato to Rūma Ono. Mia has just completed a two week placement and will continue to visit most Wednesdays with a final placement in Term 2. We are thrilled to have Mia join the Kaikorai team!

Lastly, a huge thank you to you all for your continued support. We are so lucky to have resilient and positive children who make school a fun place to be!

Many thanks

Junior Teachers

Reminders:

Sun Hats: There are still several children without school hats. It is a requirement that all children have one in Term 1 and 4. Hats are available for purchase from the school office.

Change of clothes: We recommend that all children have a spare change of clothes in their bag.
