Week 6 Principal's news
Parent's Group 🗣️
We were thrilled to welcome new parents to our Wednesday meeting! The Parent's Group is where action happens, directly impacting our students through fundraising and events.
Our agenda is packed: we're organising a school group for the 2026 Weetbix Tryathlon, investing in a school marquee, gearing up for the May cookie dough fundraiser, finalising the hoodie sales, and preparing for the popular Pizza Lunch.
Mark your calendars! Join us on April 30th at 6 pm as we begin planning the school disco. We encourage you to get involved!
Attendance Matters ✔️
At Kaikorai Primary, we know that regular attendance is vital for your child's learning and development.
Learning Continuity: Daily attendance ensures your child doesn't miss important lessons, keeping them on track with the curriculum.
Social Development: School is where friendships are built, and social skills are learned. Regular attendance allows for consistent interaction with peers.
Teacher Support: Consistent presence allows your child to build strong relationships with their teachers, enabling them to receive the support they need.
Community Connection: Being present at school allows your child to be a full participant in our Kaikorai Primary community.
All student absences are monitored daily, weekly, and throughout the term. We are now required to make contact when absences are worrying (up to 10 days in a term) concerning (up to 15 days in a term) and seriously concerning (15 days or more in a term).
If your child will be absent for an extended period (e.g., family holidays), please notify me via email. principal@kaikorai.school.nz
Please make attending school a priority.
Lost Property
Please see the photo below of all the unnamed and unclaimed clothing. This is from 6 weeks of school. It will be donated to the charity shop in the holidays. PLEASE name your child's clothing.
As always, thank you for your support and please don't hesitate to get in touch if I can help in any way.
