Wellbeing at Kaikorai by Beth Downie

Principal's news

Here we are at the end of another engaging and meaningful term.

Our team has worked hard to provide you with up-to-date, relevant, and meaningful assessment information, along with your child's next learning steps and goals. Thank you for taking the time to kōrero with us this week during our whānau-teacher learning conversations. I hope you found these discussions useful. As always, please feel free to get in touch at any time if you have any concerns or need clarity about any aspect of your child's learning journey.

I am pleased to report that our school-wide mid-year assessment data in reading, writing, and mathematics are very strong. Following its presentation to our school board, detailed data will be shared with the community next term.

Staffing update

Today we say farewell to Rosarah Hardie for Term 3 as she embarks on her European adventure. We look forward to hearing all about her travels when she returns in Term 4. We are thrilled that Miss Youngs will teach in Rūma Iwa during her absence.

Lost property

There is an incredible amount of winter clothes in our lost property that are unnamed and not recognised by our children. We cannot store this, so please claim it by the end of week 1 next term.

School Fair

There are 64 days remaining until our school fair. As the new term begins, you will notice increased communication from us. We will be reaching out to our community for donations to support the activities and stalls, and there will be a school-wide effort to ensure the fair is a resounding success. Raffle cards will be sent home at the start of the term, and we need your help to sell them. The prizes are amazing, and we can't wait to share the details with you soon!

Please remember that our team of helpers are volunteers who are generously dedicating their time and energy to make this fair exceptional. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Enrolment 2025

If you have children starting school in 2025 or know anyone within our enrolment zone who hasn't yet enrolled, please complete an online enrolment form by the beginning of August. This can be found on our website.

Happy holidays

I wish my team and their whānau a relaxing, healthy, and restful holiday. I want to acknowledge and thank them for the mahi they put in daily for our tamariki and our kura.

I look forward to seeing you all back safely on Monday, 22nd July.

Ngā manaakitanga

Beth
