School Ski Trip

Thank you to everyone who attended the school ski trip last weekend and a special thank you to Anna Ollerenshaw for organising everything!  The next trip is on the 17th and 18th September and more information can be found below.

Kaikorai Primary School combined with Wakari School will be holding their second ski weekend at Cardrona Ski Field on the weekend of the 17th and 18th of September.

This is an excellent way to introduce your child to snow sports as the ski field offers reasonable rates to schools, which we in turn pass on to you. It is your responsibility to organise your own transport and accommodation for this weekend and to look after your child for the day.

Cardrona ski field stipulates that to get these cheap rates we need to be organised well before the morning rush. It is essential that you agree to be at the base facility on the mountain by 8am. The other requirement is that we have 15 people for each day. It is important that we don’t have people pull out on the day if the weather is not perfect or the snow is not fresh powder!

Finally, we need to present to Cardrona a very detailed list of everyone’s needs so please take the time to fill out the online form correctly, for each person skiing/boarding, by Friday 2nd of September.

Payment needs to be paid to YOUR school by Wednesday 21st SEPTEMBER - Please reference it with your name, and ‘ski trip’.

Below are the costings for the 2016 ski weekends. This weekend will be at spring rates.

$57 for lift and lesson

$80 for lift, lesson and rental.

Note from Cardrona regarding siblings Under 5

Children under 6yrs receive free lift passes.
Children under 5yrs who are travelling as part of a family with school age children can not participate in school group lessons. Under 5’s are welcome to rent ski equipment at the NZ school group rates in which case they will need to be listed on the confirmation form, but will NEED to ski with their parents.
