Week 6 Principal's news

Mā te kimi ka kite, Mā te kite ka mōhio, Mā te mōhio ka mārama ~ Seek and discover. Discover and know. Know and become enlightened.

Welcome to our newest member of the Kaikorai whānau - Nia; we are so happy you are here.

Parent interviews

I was thrilled with the turnout for parent interviews this week. Thank you for coming to kōrero about how your child's year has started. But please don't wait until parent interview time if you are concerned or have questions about school life. Thank you to the dedicated team of teachers for their late-night mahi.

Property update 🦺

Our new administration block is very near completion.  The building will be fitted out with new furniture and fixtures, and I thank the BOT for their sizeable contribution to this space. The whare pukapuka (library) will be warm and inviting, where children can cosy up with a book or sit out on the deck under the shade sails with their friends reading. There is a tinker table where lego creations can be made; chess games can happen at lunchtime, and children can enjoy lunchtime in a quiet place if they choose.

Our blessing is at 9:30 am on Friday, 28th April, and all whānau are invited. You will be able to participate in the blessing and look around the new spaces. We will send specific information closer to the time, but please save the date.

Can you help?

We are desperately short of families that can help with road patrol. Our core group of 11 parents that safely get our little people across the road before school are unavailable in the coming weeks. Please help either for a few mornings or more. Please let me know or email roadpatrol@kaikorai.school.nz if you can help. Thank you in advance for your time.

Cyclone appeal

Thank you for your contributions to the cyclone appeal. I was thrilled to be able to bank $612 for this appeal.
