A week to remember - Swimming, Party Week and the 150 School Reunion.

The term truly has kicked off with a bang and it doesn’t look to be slowing down with lots of fun activities planned for the coming weeks.

Swimming

As always we are blown away by the impressive progress the children have made during the eight days of swimming. It is fabulous to see them becoming such confident swimmers especially coming into the summer months. No doubt there would have been some tired children on Friday night! A big thank you must go to the wonderful parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles and friends who came to watch and help. Activities such as this would not be possible without your support.

Party Week

Bouncy castle, ice cream truck, movie, cake and party games! It’s not every day you get to celebrate a 150th birthday and we certainly did it in style. It was fantastic to be able to create such special memories for our children and to also acknowledge the huge effort they had put into making the school reunion a huge success.

The 150th School Reunion

Last Friday we were lucky to have some very special visitors into our classrooms; the past pupils of Kaikorai School. Children had been working hard over the past weeks creating ‘museum pieces’, showcasing our school and special items from the past. The children loved meeting the past pupils and hearing all about what their own school used to be like years ago. It was obvious that meeting the children and seeing work in the classrooms was a memorable part of the reunion for our past students.

Upcoming Events:

Percy’s Fun Day: A fun and active session for children in Years 0 - 3 where they are given the opportunity to participate in a range of fun games and activities. The Junior Syndicate will be attending on the 22nd November. A notice will be sent home next week with further information.

Reminders:

Sunhats: A reminder that school sunhats must be worn in Term 4. Please ensure your child has one at school and it is named.

Water bottle: As the warm weather approaches it is extra important that children are bringing a water bottle to school.

8.30am bell: Please ensure your child is waiting until the 8.30am bell before they enter the classroom as this is important teacher preparation time.
