Junior News

The past week has been filled with fun and excitement in the Juniors. Usually, to celebrate the end of the year the Junior Syndicate would go on a trip. This year we decided to bring the fun to us with our Junior Festive Fun Fair! This included a special visit from Mr Whippy, a bouncy castle, singing, party games and Christmas craft. In the words of the children, “BEST DAY EVER!”

Last Thursday we also celebrated the much anticipated school movie premiere ‘Locked Out’. It was obvious the many hours that the children have spent practising their acting skills, learning their lines, dance routines and songs. It was extra special for the children to share their hard work with you all and at the Regent Theatre. I know they felt like real movie stars walking the red carpet!

Reflecting on 2021, it sure has been a fun but challenging year. From first days of school, to moving classrooms to lockdown it really has been a year we won’t forget. Through it all the children have remained resilient, positive and keen. We want to extend a big thank you to all our wonderful parents, grandparents and caregivers who have supported our children during the year, especially over lockdown. It really would not be possible without all your support!

I know you will also join me in thanking our wonderful junior teachers; Courtney, Susan, Paula and Emma and the numerous teacher aides that work alongside us. I cannot thank them enough for always going above and beyond for our children. Our children are very lucky to have such a wonderful start to school with such a dedicated team.

A special mention also to Susan Oldfield who opened our second New Entrant class this year. Thank you, Susan for your dedication and commitment to our newest Kaikorai children. We wish you well in your retirement and know you will enjoy the extra time to make many special memories with your family.

Lastly, we want to wish our Year 2 children luck as they move to the Middle Syndicate next year. It has been an absolute pleasure watching you grow and seeing you flourish into the amazing KAIK Kids that you are. You are all so ready for the next step and we will follow your future successes with interest.

Until next year, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and hope you have a fun, relaxing and safe summer with friends and family.
