Week 6 Principal's news

Beth DownieJune 6, 2024

A special welcome to Harper and her whānau to Kaikorai Primary School.

Property news 🛠

Kaikorai has been a hive of activity this week, with many contractors working on the Room 13 upgrade. The foundations are being laid to prepare for the turfed area around the back of the class. The old clear light roofing was removed and is ready to be replaced. The old red wall covering was removed, and the beautiful sea blue wall covering has been installed to match the rest of the school.

We have had a stonemason working on the Tyne Street entrance. They have cleaned and tidied up the whole area. We hope our historic Anzac plaques can be restored in the area soon.

Lastly, some classes have new manifestations on their glass doors. These have our school logo and imagery on them. A full school rollout will happen in the holidays. The external doors will also have the class numbers to help with way-finding.

Road safety 🦺

Please remind anyone who collects your child from school that the coned-off area outside school is for pick-up only. Please do not wait there. Your child must be at the gate ready to go when you pull in.

The traffic wardens have been ticketing in this area, so the best way to avoid getting a ticket is to do the right thing and obey the road rules.

Please don't hesitate to contact me.
