Middle's News

2016 has been a great year and it always surprises us how quickly each year passes. We have had many highlights including trips to the aquarium, Warrington Beach, Outram School, Tirohanga, and Te Arai te Uru Marae. Other highlights included student teachers, assembly items, the spelling bee, and swimming.

Over the last couple of weeks the children have enjoyed learning Christmas songs and Christmas art some of which we presented as a koha on our visit to Te Arai te Uru Marae. Our visit was a fantastic way to apply our learning about Powhiri in an authentic context while also gaining confidence in knowing the protocols when visiting a marae. We have thoroughly enjoyed our sessions with Matua Kopua and Whaea Ana and would like to wish them thanks for all that they have taught us this year.

The Middles are looking forward to the school disco next week and you might be in for a fun surprise if you join us. We have been practising some fantastic dance moves as a part of our fitness programme and are really looking forward to showing them off!

Thank you to the organisers of the mini fair. We had a great time playing on the bouncy castle and really enjoyed our sausage, ice cream, and buying cool crafts.

Christmas is approaching fast and we would like to wish you all a very happy and safe holidays and we look forward to seeing you all in the new year.

Sean Waller has taken some professional photos and has very kindly made them available until next Friday at this link.
